Before you arrive

At a glance

  • After you enrol at your home university, set up your Campus+ account with your university email address.
  • Visa rules depend on the country of your home university. Check them as soon as you are accepted, because the process can take time.
  • Look for housing early. Your Local Academic Mentor and study buddies know the local housing market.
  • Insurance requirements and options are in the local welcome guide from your home university.
  • You are responsible for having all documents and approvals in place before the semester starts.

What you need to do

  1. Complete enrolment at your home university. Your Local Academic Coordinator then contacts you and connects you with study buddies and the international office.
  2. Create your Campus+ account using your university email at nteucampus.org/user/register.
  3. Check the visa requirements and apply early. Gather the documents you need and arrange travel after your visa is approved. See visa and travel support.
  4. Arrange travel and health insurance. See housing and insurance guidance.
  5. Secure accommodation. Check the estimated living costs for your city.
  6. Take part in local orientation when you arrive, and set up your university email, learning platform access, Wi-Fi and student card. See arrival and orientation.

When to do it

Start as soon as you have been accepted into the programme. The handbook does not give fixed dates for these steps, because they depend on your home university and its country. Ask your Local Academic Mentor for local deadlines, and see dates and deadlines.

Common EMN guidance and local requirements

The steps above apply to every EMN student. Visa, housing and insurance rules are local, so they differ between universities and countries. Your home university's welcome guide and your university guide in this handbook cover the local side.

Who can help?

  • Your Local Academic Mentor helps with visa questions, travel and housing, or connects you with the right contact person.
  • Your study buddies help you find your way around the university and share local tips.
  • Your university's EMN contact is listed under university contacts.
